What are the characteristics of gravity shelves

source:English website  |  Release time:2024年02月01日
Each compartment of a gravity shelving is a storage slide with a certain slope. The cargo unit loaded onto the runway by the human warehouse crane can automatically move from the inbound end to the outbound end under its own weight, until the outbound end of the runway or the existing cargo unit comes to a stop. After the first cargo unit located at the outbound end of the slide is taken away by the outbound crane, each cargo unit behind it moves one cargo position towards the outbound end under the action of gravity. To reduce the friction between the container and the shelf, rollers or rollers are installed on the inventory slide.

Gravity shelving is one of the derivatives of crossbeam shelving. The shelving structure is similar to that of crossbeam shelving, except that a drum type track is installed on the crossbeam, which tilts 3-5 °. The palletized goods are transported by forklift to the shelf inlet, and using their own weight, the pallets automatically slide from the inlet to the other end of the pick-up port. It is a first in, first out storage method. The depth and number of shelves can be determined as needed. Gravity shelves are suitable for storing similar goods in small quantities and have high space utilization.

Characteristics of gravity shelving:

1. The goods are stored from the higher end, slid to the lower end, and removed from the lower end. During the sliding process of goods, dampers are installed on the slide to control the sliding speed of the goods within a safe range. A separator is installed at one end of the slide for shipment, and the handling machinery can smoothly remove the goods at the first board position.

2. The goods follow the order of first in, first out. The shelves have high storage density and flexible fitting function.
